Hello everyone! My name is Dimitar Mardov and I am a 15 year old Bulgarian International Master living in the US. I am currently a sophomore at Lake Zurich High School. My dad taught me how to play chess at the young age of 5 and I’ve had a passion for the game ever since. Outside of chess, one of my favorite things to do is play tennis and I am currently a part of the Varsity Tennis Team for my high school. Some of  my most notable chess achievements include:

-3 Time National Chess Champion (1 Time Supernational Champion)

-1 Time Rapid World Chess Champion (U12)

-Official Representative for America at World Cadet Championships

-Represented Illinois at the Dewain Barber National Tournament

-Winner of North American Youth Chess Championship U18 in 2021

-#1 ranked player in the U.S. for players born in 2008

-#4 ranked player in the World for players born in 2008

-Won my first GM Norm in the 1000 GM Saint Louis Norm Event in Feb. 2024

I am excited to give back to the chess community in a lot of different ways. I want to share my knowledge with all of you and help spread chess to people all over the world. One of the beauties of this complex game is that no matter how much you know or how good you are, there’s always more to learn.
